Rajkot Machine Tools Association was established in 1983 with initial membership of 25 units. In the past MTMA has performed various activities pertaining to common problems of machine tools Industries and strongly represents their hindrances to concerned authorities and MTMA has successfully established infrastructure for purchasing the bearings direct from manufacturer and distributing among their members with objective of getting genuine quality with reasonable price. Since last few years MTMA has widened its horizon and expanded its activities with association of UNIDO (United Nation Industrial Development Organization) & ICAMT (International Center for Advancement of Manufacturing Technology). Presently MTMA is active dynamically for the Technology up gradation program for its members through various remarkable activities. Now a days about 250 machine tools manufacturers are the members of MTMA. Rajkot is identified as Machine tools cluster in India by Ministry of SSI, Govt. of India & UNIDO and adopted by UNIDO for cluster development program for the machine tools industries. Under this scheme MTMA and UNIDO have organized various effective and successful programs for their members. |
Rajkot comes first in the conventional machine tools manufacturing followed by Ludhiana and Batala and comes closely next to Bangalore in CNC machine tools manufacturing with around 400 nos. of machine tools manufacturing units. Rajkot is proudly known as the main hub of machine tool manufacturing sector of India. Rajkot is one of the fastest developing City in India. Rajkot is center part of Saurashtra region and very well connected by good quality roads with other cities of Gujarat. Rajkot is mainly connected with Mumbai as well as Kandla & Pipavav Port. Rajkot is very close with Kandla port which has become one of the best well equipped port of India providing good facilities for exporting finish product from Rajkot. Rajkot is an Industrial city of Gujarat as well as India and has variety of industries working very satisfactorily. Most of the Rajkot industries are SSI units and developed by their hardworking, skill and own resources. |
